  Join us for a special morning as the Sonning & Waikato Diocesan Old Girls' Association comes together for our 2026 Annual General Meeting.

  This year's gathering is much more than an AGM. It is an opportunity to reconnect with old friends, celebrate our shared history, and honour Cherrington—a building that has held generations of memories, friendships, laughter and milestones for so many Old Girls.

  As Cherrington prepares to make way for its next chapter, we invite you to join us in reflecting on its remarkable legacy and celebrating the place it has held in the hearts of our community.

  The morning will include:

  • Morning tea (former dining room)
  • A Chapel service
  • A brief AGM and committee reports
  • A professional photograph on the iconic Cherrington steps (with a complimentary digital download) before work begins on Cherrington 2.0
  • A tour of Cherrington and the school
  • The opportunity to continue catching up over lunch (own arrangements)

  Whether you left Dio recently or many decades ago, we'd love to welcome you back. This will be a unique opportunity to reconnect with fellow Old Girls, revisit cherished spaces, and say a fitting farewell to a building that has meant so much to so many, while looking ahead with excitement to the future of our school.

  Fees Bursary Application Form

  In 2026, there will be two recipients of an award of $4000 to go towards the school fees in 2027.

  You will need to register online, on this event page when it opens.

  Registrations will open on 7th of September

  and close on the 2nd of October. 

   The recipients will be notified by by Monday the 26th of October.

  
  

  Applicant eligibility

  Financial member of SWDOGA (or willing to become one)- To inquire about becoming a financial member email: waidiooga@gmail.com

  Direct relative of recipient (e.g. mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt)

  Criteria:

  The committee will consider the following criteria in making their overall selection/judgement. The committee appreciates that not all criteria may be met by all applicants.

  ·         Academic performance

  ·         Excellence in extra-curricular activities

  ·         Financial need

  ·         Community involvement

  ·         Previous connection or contribution to SWDOGA

  You will need to upload the following 3 documents to the application

  1.  Personal reference from the proposed recipient

  Please describe yourself as a student, your current school and/or community involvement, and your interests and aspirations. How do you think attending Waikato Diocesan School for Girls will benefit you

  2. Copy of the proposed recipient’s most recent school report

  3. Supporting statement from the applicant (200 words maximum)

  Please provide a statement in support of the application for the proposed recipient. Please include why you believe attending Waikato Diocesan School for Girls will benefit the proposed recipient.   Centennial Tertiary Scholarship

  There will be one recipient of $3000 to assist a member of SWDOGA to further or complete tertiary education in 2027.

  You will need to register online, on this event page when it opens.

  Registrations will open on 16th of November

  and close on the 27th of October. 

   The recipients will be notified by Monday the 14th of December

  
  

  Applicant eligibility

  • Must be a financial member of the SWDOGA (or willing to become one). To inquire about becoming a financial member email: waidiooga@gmail.com

  • Must have completed her secondary education at Waikato Diocesan School for Girls

  • Must have completed at least two years of tertiary study at a recognised institution

  • Must be enrolled or planning to enroll in further tertiary study, or to complete tertiary study, at a recognised institution.

  Criteria

  The committee will consider the following criteria in making their overall selection/judgement. The committee appreciates that not all criteria may be met by all applicants.

  • Academic record and commitment to study

  • Financial need

  • Contribution to, or advancement of, SWDOGA

  • Community engagement and service

  • The potential contribution of the applicant’s study to their community or wider society.

  You will need to upload the following 2 documents to the application

  1.  Personal Statement in support of your application

  Include a brief outline of how you will use the Centennial Tertiary Scholarship and how your studies may help you contribute to community/society. You may also comment on your past or current community and SWDOGA involvement if applicable.

  2. Recent academic results
